Clinical Internship

Our commitment to the health profession is clear when it comes to raising the level of expectations for the community at large. We want to ensure that our legacy includes working with accredited programs so that ARIS Physical Therapy is a significant part of the professional development of Physical Therapists, Physical Therapy Assistants, Athletic Trainers, and Physical Therapy Technicians, via internships. We are proud to be an integral part of their clinical and professional education.  We feel that it is important to help them truly understand that clinical knowledge and professionalism must be coupled together in order to make a long lasting positive impact on the patients they serve. We expect them to come well prepared so that they spend a great deal of their internship learning beyond the classroom, rather than reviewing textbooks in the clinic. Upon completion of their internship each student should feel confident and be able to demonstrate a level of competence worthy of an entry-level clinician capable of independent practice in the clinical setting.

Additionally, we have worked with local high school health profession development programs to allow their students to observe. The goal of this program is to help the high school student gain a working knowledge of practical and professional aspects physical therapy.

We also allow pre-PT candidates to come in to gain observation hours, which is usually a requirement of most physical therapy graduate programs. Although, these students are not part of a formal program through their university our goal is to provide them with an in-depth understanding of outpatient physical therapy. We prefer that these students commit to a certain number of hours per week so that we may develop a professional relationship with them. In turn, we are able to help them better realize if physical therapy will suite them as their chosen profession. This will also enable the Physical Therapist to familiarize themselves with the pre-PT candidate in order to write a fair and comprehensive recommendation letter.
